Ambulance staffing changes |
Amendment changes to 105 CMR 170.000, Emergency Medical Services Systems.
These amendments implemented section 61 of Chapter 188 of the Acts of 2010, signed into law by Governor Patrick on July 27, 2010, which established a statutory minimum staffing level for paramedic-level ambulances of two EMTs, only one of whom is an EMT-Paramedic, “in accordance with regulations promulgated by the department." Until this section was enacted, there was no statutory minimum staffing level for ambulances. Rather, minimum staffing levels for ambulances were established in the Department's EMS System regulation, 105 CMR 170.000.
